Getting Go(o)d! A New column.

Many seekers and followers of the spiritual path often end up asking questions and/or wondering what is the cause of their pain and suffering. Looking for the cause is where the pain needs to be embraced, released, and processed. How we get through the process is where the seeker has to do the work. The pain and hurt needs to be addressed by no longer allowing it to be swept under the rug and ignored but faced head on. Getting to the good is allowing God to "take" the hurt created by the initial pain. The good is trusting the Higher Self to know how to deal with it.

The ego will try to stop you by keeping your trapped with lingering  pain and the story. The story is the reaction to what happened and how it is currently affecting you. It is being stuck in the past, which is where the story lives, and its very present presence in today. The story becomes bigger, more powerful and emotional each time is it spoken of or remembered. The seeker will sometimes feel guilty for "creating" this story situation and will deny its existence again wanting to forget it. Yet it continues to lurk underneath the healing the seeker is seeking. The good part is the healing is happening by being aware that pain is present and choosing again, not in the story but in the awareness pain is showing up, the story  has been opened up and now it can be dealt with by looking at it from a different perspective.
The key to freedom is unlocking the door and letting the light from within  to shine and lead the way.

Getting the good comes from recognizing this light as the Higher Self, the Holy Spirit, the inner wisdom, and the place where peace, love, and forgiveness are. Getting there feels difficult because of the clutter the ego throws in the pathway.  The seeker who continues will be guided by  constant  companions - perseverance and faith.

Accept what is and allow your seeking of more, to show you the way to good by opening doors of opportunity. Getting good is getting God and you're on your way.
